PULASKI, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion volleyball team picked up a payback win Thursday night over Martin Methodist College, as they defeated the Redhawks 3-2 at the Curry Christian Center in Pulaski, Tenn. (17-25, 25-15, 25-21, 13-25, 15-10).

The last time the Lady Lions faced Martin Methodist was earlier this season on August 29th and with it came a 3-2 loss at the Brewer Sports Center. Thursday; however, was a much different story, as the Lady Lions turned the tables and secured a 3-2 win of their own to notch their fifth win of the season.

"It was great to be able to pick up the win tonight in a tough environment," said Todd Humphry, head coach for the Lady Lion volleyball team. I felt like we made some great strides tonight in learning how to win. Even when we were down in the match, we battled back and were able to secure the win."

Senior Alex Britt paced the attack for the Lady Lions, as she ended the night with 13 kills. Shea Dean and Claire Walker followed close behind and reached double digits on the attack, as Dean contributed 11 kills while Walker compiled 10 kills in the win.

Lindsey Gordon distributed the ball well in the match, as she contributed 49 of FHU's 55 assists in the match while also compiling 14 defensive digs in the win. Reilly Fulton countered the Redhawk attack well and ended the night with 17 defensive digs.

With the win, the Lady Lions move to 5-10 on the season. Martin Methodist falls to 15-4 on the season with the loss.

UP NEXT: The Lady Lions are back in action Saturday, October 7th, as they make the trip to Hannibal-LaGrange University. Match time is slated for 12:00 PM in Hannibal, Mo.
