PULASKI, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lions lost a pair of games to open their season at the Martin Methodist Meltdown.

FHU dropped its season-opener to No. 14 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) College before falling 9-1 to Campbellsville (Ky.) University in five innings.

Lindsey Wilson (2-0) got runs in the second, third and fifth innings while Cara Law limited the Lady Lions to three hits and stranded five.

FHU starter Tiffany Tucker worked out of several jams, stranding 10 Blue Raider runners.  She went six innings, allowing eight hits and three walks with two strikeouts.

Brittany Yates, Amber Vansandt and Kamara Trice each had a hit for FHU.

In the second game, Campbellsville got a two-run home run in the second inning that opened up the floodgates after the Lady Lions scored once in the top of the first.  Three of FHU's five hits came in the first inning.

Sarah Elizabeth Cousar took the loss, allowing 11 hits in four innings.  Shelby Cummings had two hits for the Lady Lions.

FHU returns to action tomorrow taking on Point (Ga.) University at 9:00 AM and Reinhardt (Ga.) University at 1:00 PM.
