HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion softball team continued to add to its strong recruiting class with the recent signing of Rachael Dodd of Reidland, Ky.
Dodd was a five-year letter winner at Reidland HS where she played third base and was a four-time academic all-state honoree. She was part of a Reidland team that won three Class A State Championships (2008, 2010, 2011) and the KHSAA State Championship in 2010.
Dodd batted .337 for her career with an on-base percentage of .478 and was named to the all-state tournament team in 2011.
"Rachael will add options for us in the infield next season," said FHU head coach Todd Humphry. "She is a versatile athlete that has tons of experience in a high school program that is known throughout Kentucky. Along with her defense, Rachael will contribute at the plate to help our offense."
She joins a recruiting class that includes Allie Carpenter (Decaturville, Tenn./Trinity Christian Academy), Jessica Weeks (Henderson, Tenn./Chester Co. HS), Allie Moss (Covington, Tenn./Covington HS) and Lauren Benson (Murray, Ky./Calloway Co. HS).
Rachael is the daughter of James David and Rebecca Dodd of Reidland.
