ATLANTA - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lions completed a two-game road trip to open the season with a 1-1 tie against Point (Ga.) University on Tuesday night in Atlanta.

After a scoreless first half, the Lady Lions (0-1-1) struck first on a goal by Briley Collins in the 58th minute following a header from Katie Hillis on a cross into the box.

FHU maintained that lead until Point's Wendy Mendoza scored the equalizer in the 81st minute.  Neither team would be able to score in either overtime period.

Abbey Adkins had eight saves in goal for the Lady Lions as FHU outshot their opponents, 20-12.

Freed-Hardeman opens its home schedule on Friday, Aug. 31, with a match against St. Catharine (Ky.) College.
