HENDERSON, Tenn. - It was a good day all around for the Freed-Hardeman Lion baseball team, who used pitching and hitting to put together a pair of 10-0 wins over Concordia (Neb.) University on Friday afternoon at Carnes Field.

In game one of the double-header, the Lions scored in every inning while Carlos Pertuz (2-0) held Concordia to just one hit over five innings while striking out seven.  Derek Bush hit a two-out, three-run homerun in the bottom of the first, and Leo Alvarez and George Otero each hit two-run blasts as FHU run-ruled Concordia in the fifth inning.

George Lorie (2-0) went the distance in game two, scattering six hits in six innings and fanned seven batters.  The Lion offense gave Lorie an early cushion with a four-run first inning, then finished off the game with a five-run sixth highlighted by Mitch Cox's two-run homerun in his first collegiate at-bat.  Noslen Labrada added a solo shot in the fourth, his first of the year.

Willy Hernandez went 2-for-3 in both games to raise his batting average to .421 as FHU improved to 8-4 on the season.
