NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Freed-Hardeman's Jorge Lorie threw a gem in the first game, but Trevecca took the second game and the series after coming from behind twice in the late innings to earn the double-header split on Saturday.

The Lions leave the weekend series with an overall record of 9-6, while Trevecca improves to 11-8.  It was the first TranSouth Conference series for both teams.  TNU won Friday's opener, 15-4.

Lorie (3-0) was brilliant in the first game, allowing one run on six hits scattered over seven innings as the Lions took a 2-1 win.  Both of FHU's runs came in the fourth inning with Noslen Labrada's solo shot serving as the difference.  Brian Bullard tied the game earlier in the inning with a double.

It appeared as though the Lions would sweep the day for much of the second game, with FHU getting to Trojan starter Ben Johnson early and leading 5-0 after four innings.  But Trevecca chased Javy Gomez in the sixth with three runs, then tied the game in the bottom of the seventh on Cody Heggie's two-run double.

Willy Hernandez's two-run homerun, his second of the game, put the Lions back up in the top of the eighth, 8-6.  But again, the Trojans rallied in the bottom of the inning, scoring a run with one out and loading the bases with two outs after an intentional walk was issued to TNU's Brian Dirheimer.  FHU reliever Les Rodriguez (0-1) threw a wild pitch that scored the tying run, and Marty Parks scored the winning run when catcher Leo Alvarez threw wildly trying to gun him down at third.

Hernandez went 4-for-4 with two homeruns and four RBI in the second game for FHU.  He also crossed home plate four times.
