HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lions scored 26 runs in 11 innings in a double-header sweep of visiting Rust (Miss.) College on Monday at Carnes Field, 16-0 and 10-6.

Joey Gildea (3-1) and Derek Williford combined to limit Rust to just two hits in five innings in game one, and the Lion offense exploded for 11 runs in the third inning and totaled 14 hits in only four innings.  Brian Bullard, Derek Bush, and Garrett Ammons each had two hits while Angel Nicolas went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with a pair of doubles.  Nicolas and Ammons drove in three runs apiece.

The game two, Michael Clayton hit a walk-off grand slam to cap a five-run seventh inning that saw FHU earn a come-from-behind win.  Rust took its first lead of the game after scoring three times in the top of the sixth, but Alan Barnett (3-0) pitched a scoreless inning of relief in the seventh to set the stage for Clayton's heroics following Greg Allen's RBI single that tied the game.

The sweep improved Freed-Hardeman's record to 19-8 on the season and 13-4 at Carnes Field.
