HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman cross country teams finished the season on Friday as they hosted the AMC Championship for the first time in school history. Sloan Scott led the way for FHU narrowly missing an All-Conference selection with an 11th place finish among 69 runners.

The conditions were far from ideal Friday as heavy rainfall on Thursday night and Friday morning caused difficult conditions on the course. The main goal for a majority of the runners on Friday was not necessarily to improve their time, but to finish the race free from injury in such difficult conditions.

The AMC Championship started off with the men's 8K race at 10:00 AM. The men's race consisted of 9 teams with a total of 65 runners in the field.

No. 18 Columbia College dominated the competition as they had six runners in the top 10 including Tommy Skosky, who finished 1st overall followed by Michael McCulloch (2nd), Tyler Lawson (3rd), Seth Schenck (5th), Devin Sander (6th) and Alex Slater (9th). Columbia brought home first-place as a team impressively with 17 points.

The top three runners for the Lions on Saturday were once again all freshmen. Blaine McKinney led the FHU men's team with a time of 30:27 and finished 24th overall. Dillon Tucker finished 36th overall with a time of 31:31 followed by Adam Dunlap, who finished close behind in 37th place with a time of 32:05.

The Lions finished eighth as a team in the conference. A complete list of results for the Lions team are listed below:
