HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman University baseball team added a local product to its pitching staff for the 2010 season with the signing of Gage Franklin of Savannah, Tenn.
Franklin, a left-handed pitcher, prepped at Hardin County HS where he has been a multi-time all-district and all-region performer for Coach Ryan Miller. At the time of his signing, he was 7-0 with a 2.73 ERA and 44 strikeouts in 46 innings pitched.
Franklin's brother, Tyler, is a former FHU pitcher and is now a graduate assistant with the program.
"Gage is a solid left-hander who will help us right away," said FHU head coach Patrick McCarthy. "He comes from a great family and is one of the hardest-working kids we have recruited."
He is the son of Richard and Susan Franklin of Savannah.
