FHU (25-17, 15-9  AMC) enters Friday's match-up coming off a split with Bethel (Tenn.) University on Wednesday, April 20. Despite the loss in the opening game, McKenzie Prince pitched solid in the circle, striking out 10 batters and allowing just eight hits. Caitlyn Carter and Allie Carpenter led the Lady Lions at the plate, as they both went 2-for-4 in the opening game to combine for four of FHU's nine hits in the game.

FHU would fight back in the second game of the series as they jumped out to an early lead and held on to stop the late heroics of the Wildcats. Mallory Spurlock picked up the win after working seven full innings and striking out seven batters.

Caitlyn Carter led the Lady Lions at the plate once again as she went 2-for-4 in the nightcap and contributed three RBI's in the win.

The Lady Lions jumped out to an early 6-3 lead after pushing one across in the second inning and scoring five in the third inning. Another run in the fifth and three more in the seventh inning to put the Lady Lions up 10-4 would all but seal it for FHU.

However, the Wildcats would not go down without a fight, as they put together a four-hit, five-run inning in the bottom half of the seventh inning to close the gap to one run at the 10-9 mark. Hannah Clifton led the charge for Bethel with a two-run homerun in the inning to contribute to the late rally. Spurlock, however, was able to keep her composure following the scoring flurry as the Lady Lions held on for the 10-9 victory.
