CONWAY, Ark. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion softball team put up a valiant effort Thursday, but came up just short as they suffered a 6-2 loss to Park University in the opening game and a 7-5 loss in the second game to end their season in the Final Four of the AMC Tournament.

Despite pounding out 11 hits in the opening game, the Lady Lions (27-20) struggled to turn base runners into runs as they crossed the plate just twice in the game. Park University, on the other hand, produced nine hits in the game, but were able to take advantage of their scoring opportunities as they crossed the plate six times in the game to send FHU to the losers bracket.

Despite the loss, Caitlyn Carter continued her strong play at the plate as she went 3-for-4 on the day to give the Lady Lions a chance. Jordan Burton, who was inserted into the lineup for an injured Jenna Graham, made good on the opportunity and hit a perfect 2-for-2 in the game.

However, despite having plenty of base runners on the day, the Lady Lions continue to strand them as they fell 6-2 to the Pirates.

The Lady Lions continued to struggle to push runs across the plate in the second game of the series against Williams Baptist College, but would make things interesting in the final inning to produce a comeback.

Despite pounding out 14 hits in the game, the Lady Lions were unable to capitalize on their scoring opportunities as they remained scoreless through six innings.

Williams Baptist, however, had no trouble at the plate as they were able to capitalize on their 12 hits in the game and turn them into seven runs to take a commanding 7-0 lead.

The Lady Lions would finally find their bat in the top of the seventh inning, as they pounded out six hits and crossed the plate five times to orchestrate an impressive comeback. However, FHU would come up just short as they fell 7-5 to end their season.

With the losses, the Lady Lions fall to 27-20 and end their season in the Final Four of the AMC Tournament.
