HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lion baseball team took a step toward replacing an All-American catcher with the recent signing of Taylor Moore of Marion, Ark.

Moore spent time both behind the plate and on the mound at Marion HS, where he played for Coach Mac Hurley.  As a senior, he hit .328 and posted a .449 on-base percentage while driving in 18 runs.  He also went 2-2 with two saves and struck out 32 batters in 25.1 innings.

"Taylor is a strong-throwing catcher," said FHU head coach Patrick McCarthy.  "Once he gains experience calling games and handling our pitchers, he is going to be good behind the dish."

Taylor is the son of Lee and Paige Moore.
