Lady Lions catch fire; down Morthland 3-0

HENDERSON, Tenn. - When you catch fire, you come away with a win. And the Lady Lion volleyball team was due a scorcher.

After dropping three of their last four matches to start the season, the Lady Lions (2-4) found their stride Saturday as they came away with a straight-sets victory over Morthland (Ill.) College at the Brewer Sports Center. (25-6, 25-15, 25-23)

The Lady Lions received contribution from nearly every player on the roster, as they combined for 40 kills to keep the Patriots on their heels the entire match.

Daymari Brito, Meg Talkington, Alex Britt and Ashton Webb led FHU on the offensive end, each with six kills while Lindsey Gordon continued her solid play with 31 assists and seven digs.

Libero Bailey Brown countered Morthland's attack with 10 digs while Alex Britt contributed four service aces in the victory.

With the win, the Lady Lions move to 2-4 on the season.
