Lady Lions down NCAA Division 2 Lane College in straight sets

HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion volleyball team made it look easy Saturday, as they extended their winning streak to three matches with a 3-0 victory over NCAA Division 2 Lane College at the Brewer Sports Center.

The Lady Lions received contribution from nearly every player on the roster, as they combined for 45 kills to keep the Dragons off balance the entire match.

Beth Maples led FHU on the offensive end with 11 kills while Freshman Ashton Webb contributed solid minutes with seven kills of her own. Setter Sara Denton continued her strong play, as she contributed 30 of FHU's 34 assists in the match.

Libero Bailey Brown countered Morthland's attack with eight digs while Freshman Audrey Moore peppered three service aces in the match.

With the win, the Lady Lions move to 6-7 on the season.

UP NEXT: The Lady Lions will be on the road this week, as they make the trip to Pulaski, Tenn. on Tuesday, October 4 for a match-up with Martin Methodist College. The match is slated for 7:00 PM.
