PULASKI, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion volleyball team played solid Tuesday night, as Daymari Brito led all players with 18 kills, but it wasn't enough as the Lady Lions dropped their eighth match of the season with a 3-1 loss to Martin Methodist College (25-15, 22-25, 15-25, 22-25)

Things started out well for FHU, as they jumped out to an early 7-3 lead in the first set and would continue the momentum to a convincing 25-15 set win.

However, the Redhawks (8-11) would come storming back with authority, as they would take the next three sets, led by Brittney Pepitone and Chakia Hinkle, who each compiled 11 kills in the match. Redhawk Setter Sydney Arnold dished out 32 assists in the match while Domynique Kloss had 18 digs.

Daymari Brito paced the attack for FHU (6-8), as she hit .282 in the match to lead all players with 18 kills. Sara Denton continued her strong play, as she dished out 37 of FHU's 41 assists in the match. Audrey Moore and Bailey Brown countered Martin Methodist's attack well, as Moore ended the night with 12 digs while Brown chipped in 10.

With the loss, the Lady Lions fall to 6-8 on the season. The Redhawks move to 8-11 on the season with the win.

UP NEXT: The Lady Lions return home this weekend, as they host Bethel (Tenn.) University on Friday, October 7. Match time is slated for 6:00 PM.
