HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion volleyball team played tough the entire night, but in the end Bethel University would come away with the win, as they handed FHU a 3-0 loss (34-32, 25-11, 25-18).

The Lady Lions (6-9) went back and forth with Bethel (15-4) for the entire first set, as it would take the Wildcats 34 points to take a 1-0 lead in the match.

The second set would not be quite as close as Bethel was able to find some separation due to the strong arm of senior outside hitter Eloisa Sales, who led the Wildcats with 18 kills in the match.

The third set would also belong to Bethel, despite the Lady Lions hanging in there and never trailing by any more than two points for a majority of the set. Daymari Brito kept FHU in the set, as she paced the attack for the Lady Lions. However, despite the strong play, the Lady Lions would find themselves on the losing end of a 25-18 third set loss.

Despite the loss, Daymari Brito played strong on the attack, as she led the Lady Lions with 15 kills. Meg Talkington also played strong on the attack with seven kills of her own while Lindsey Gordon came back from injury strong and dished out 33 assists in the loss. Bailey Brown countered Bethel's attack with 13 digs in the match.

Eloisa Sales led the Wildcats on the attack with 18 kills while also contributing a service ace in the match. Kaylee Ginnings dished out 46 assists in the match while Yumi Garcia handled FHU's attack well, as she had 25 digs.

With the loss, the Lady Lions fall to 6-9 on the season. The Wildcats improve to 15-4 on the season with the win.

UP NEXT: The Lady Lions will not get much of a break following Friday's match-up, as they will be right back at it Saturday for a match-up with conference foe Central Baptist (Ark.) College. Match time is slated for 1:00 PM at the Brewer Sports Center.
