FHU Golf teams in top spot following Day 1 of Union Invite

JACKSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lion and Lady Lion golf teams returned to action today at the Union University Fall Invite and following a solid day both teams sit in first place.

Easton Lavelle led the Lions, shooting a one under 71, which puts him atop the individual leader board.  Hudson Huber's 75 puts him in fourth place.  As a team, the Lions shot 305, putting them in first place, seven shots ahead of West Alabama and Blue Mountain College.

The Lady Lions were led by sophomore Chloe Kraus, shooting a five over 77, which puts her in first place on the individual leader board. 

Consistent scoring allowed the Lady Lions shoot a team score of 326, putting them in first place, 18 shots ahead of Bethel University. Alex Hodgkinson's 82, Emily Whitnell's 83, and Brittany Myers' 84 rounded out the team scoring for the Lady Lions.  
 
Final round action of the Union University Invite begins tomorrow with an 8:30 AM shotgun start at the Jackson Country Club in Jackson, Tenn.
