Myers and Lavelle take first place at Union Invite

JACKSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman golf teams resumed final round play today at the Union University Invitational in Jackson, Tenn. and with it came a first place finish for the Lady Lions and a third place finish for the Lions.

The Lady Lions were led by sophomore Brittany Myers, shooting a final-round 5-over 77, which allowed her to earn a first place individual finish with a 161 two day total.

Consistent scoring produced a team score of 653 for the Lady Lions, putting them in first place, well ahead of second place finisher Bethel University. Emily Whitnell's final round 79, Alex Hodgkinson's 83, and Chloe Kraus's 88 rounded out the team scoring for the Lady Lions.  

Easton Lavelle led the Lions, shooting a final round 76, which allowed him to take a first place individual finish with a two day total of 147. Hudson Huber's final round 79 put him tied for seventh in the contest. As a team, the Lions shot 622, which put them in third place, three shots ahead of host Union University.
