WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. - The Freed-Hardeman Lion soccer team suffered their ninth loss of the season Tuesday at the hands of Williams Baptist College, as one goal would be just enough for the Eagles to pick up the 1-0 victory.

It didn't take long for Williams Baptist to get on the board, as Bruno Campos was able to find the back of the net in the fourth minute of play off an assist by Mattheus Allonso to give the Eagles the 1-0 advantage. The lone goal in the match would prove to be valuable, as neither team found the back of the net for the remainder of the match.

The match-up was fairly even on the offensive end, as FHU (2-9, 2-6 AMC) attempted 12 shots and three shots on goal compared to Williams Baptist (3-7-1, 3-4-1 AMC) who attempted 11 shots and three shots on goal in the match.

Despite the loss, the Lions have played solid on the defensive end in recent weeks, as three of their last four losses have come by just a single goal. Andrij Sawczuk led the Lions on the offensive end, as he attempted three shots and two shots on goal in the match.

Bruno Campos led the Eagles on the offensive end with the lone goal in the match to go along with two shots. The Eagles scattered the remainder of their scoring chances between two players, as Mattheus Allonso peppered one shot on goal to go along with one assist while Danilo Cruz attempted the other shot on goal in the match.

With the loss, the Lions fall to 2-9 on the season and 2-6 in conference play. The Eagles improve to 3-7-1 on the season and 3-4-1 in AMC play with the win.

UP NEXT: The Lions continue their road schedule on Saturday, October 22, as they make the trip to St. Louis, Mo. to take  on St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Match time is slated for 4:00 PM.
