HENDERSON, Tenn. - Payback is always sweeter when it's on your home court and Tuesday the Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion volleyball team proved it.

The last time the Lady Lions faced Martin Methodist College was October 4 and with it came a loss in straight-sets. However, Tuesday was a much different story, as the Lady Lions dominated the attack and came away with a 3-0 payback win over the Redhawks.

Freshman Meg Talkington led FHU (9-12) on the attack with 12 kills while Daymari Brito followed close behind with nine kills of her own. Lindsey Gordon distributed the ball well, as she dished out 29 of FHU's 33 assists in the match. The Lady Lions hit .222 in the match compared to Martin Methodist (10-14) who hit .084.

Belen Albertos Asencio led the Redhawks on the attack with 10 kills while Sydney Arnold dished out all 28 of Martin Methodist's assists in the match.

The Lady Lions jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first set and never looked back, as they led by as many as nine at the 17-8 mark before finishing things off with a 25-18 set win.

FHU continued to dominate the attack in the second set, as they rattled off four straight points to open the set with Lindsey Gordon at the service line. However, the Redhawks would keep things tight, as they would battle back to even things up at 22 apiece before FHU was able to pull out the 25-23 set win to take a 2-0 lead in the match.

The third set was much of the same for the Lady Lions, as they reached their largest lead of the match at the 22-11 mark and rolled to a 25-17 set win for the match.

With the win, the Lady Lions move to 9-12 on the season. Martin Methodist falls to 10-14 on the season with the loss.

UP NEXT: The Lady Lions are back in action on the road this weekend, as they travel to St. Louis, Mo. on Friday, October 28 for a 7:00 PM match-up with St. Louis College of Pharmacy followed by a 1:00 PM match-up with Lindenwood University-Belleville on Saturday, October 29.
