HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion soccer team picked up their second straight win Tuesday night at the Josh Riley Soccer Complex, as three goals in the second half propelled them to a 4-2 victory over Lyon College.

Both teams played fairly even on the offensive end in the first frame, as Chloe Finney found the back of the net for the Lady Lions in the 32nd minute followed by a goal in the 40th minute by Scots midfielder Jessica Souza to even things up at one apiece entering the half.

However, despite a fairly slow first half, the Lady Lions (4-8-3, 4-5-2 AMC) more than made up for it in the second half, as Nina Carolissen, Melissa Ross and Sydney Dubiel would each find the back of the net to give FHU a 4-2 lead, which would be all they needed to pick up the win.

Lyon College (5-9-1, 5-5-1) would even things up at two apiece in the 70th minute, as Olivia Wolfram found the back of the net to give the Scots life midway through the second frame.

However, Ross and Dubiel would not let things slip away, as they combined for two goals in a three-minute span to give the Lady Lions just enough cushion to secure the victory.

Both teams were fairly even in regard to their scoring opportunities, as the Lady Lions attempted 18 shots and nine shots on goal compared to Lyon College (5-9-1, 5-5-1 AMC), who attempted nine shots and eight shots on goal in the match.

With the win, the Lady Lions move to 4-8-3 on the season and 4-5-2 in conference play. The Scots fall to 5-9-1 on the season and 5-5-1 in AMC play with the loss.

UP NEXT: The Lady Lions continue their home-stand Saturday, October 29, as they host Park (Mo.) University for Senior Day. Match time is slated for 1:00 PM.
