FHU golf teams finish strong in Redhawk Classic

ATHENS, Ala. - The Freed-Hardeman University golf teams had a strong showing this week at the Redhawk Classic in Athens, Ala., as the men's team brought home a second place out of 10 teams finish while the women's team took third place out of 12 participating teams.

Easton Lavelle's second-day 69 led the Lions golf team (289-293-582) to the second place finish. Lavelle's two-day total 69-69-138 found him finishing in fourth place overall.

Ben Burnette's two-day total 69-74-143 found him tied for sixth place while Hudson Huber's 75 and Lance Moore's 75 rounded out the team scoring.
 

Emily Whitnell's program record 73 led the Lady Lions (324-309-633) to a third place finish at the Redhawk Fall Classic.  Whitnell also finished in sixth place individually. The Lady Lions' second round team score of 309 is a program record. Chloe Kraus' 76, Brittany Myers' 79, and Alex Hodgkinson's 81 rounded out the team scoring.
