HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman University soccer teams ended their season Monday with losses to Georgia Gwinnett College, as the Lady Lions fell 4-2 while the men's team dropped a 3-2 heartbreaker at the Josh Riley Soccer Complex.

The Lady Lions started things off and got on the board early, as Abigail Morales was able to find the back of the net in the 2nd minute of play to give FHU the 1-0 lead.

However, the goal by Morales would not be the only goal in the second minute of play, as Nikki Lefevre would come right back for Georgia Gwinnett and fire in a goal of her own just seconds later off an assist from Amy Morland to even things up at one apiece.

Taylor Woods would also get in on the scoring flurry in the second minute, as she fired in a goal of her own to put the Lady Lions up 2-1, which allowed FHU to keep pace with the GWC attack.

However, despite the early scoring flurry in the match, both teams stayed relatively quiet the remainder of the first half as the Lady Lions took a 2-1 lead into the half.

Lefevre would strike again for the Grizzlie's at the start of the second half with her second goal in the match to even things up at one apiece, this time off an assist from Tiffany Rodriguez.

The Grizzlie's (10-7-1) would fire in two more goals to finish the match, as Tiffany Rodriguez would find the back of the net in the 56th minute off an assist from Ana Gonzalez while Dominique Fletcher contributed a goal of her own in the 74th minute off an assist from Bristol Countess to put the Grizzlie's up 4-2, which would be too much for the Lady Lions to overcome.

The Lady Lions (4-10-3) kept things close for a majority of the match, despite being out-shot by Georgia Gwinnett in the match-up. The Grizzlie's attempted 20 shots and 13 shots on goal in the match compared to FHU, who attempted just six shots and five shots on goal.

With the loss, the Lady Lions end their season with a record of 4-10-3. Georgia Gwinnett improves to 10-7-1 with the win.

Meanwhile in the men's match, a majority of the action would take place in the first half, as a 3-2 lead at the half would be just enough for Georgia Gwinnett (10-3-3) to secure a victory over FHU (4-11).

Despite solid goals from Lucas Las Casas in the 14th minute and another by Alex Meany in the 29th, the Grizzlie's found just enough offense to send the Lions home with their eleventh loss of the season.

Samuel Sampaio Gomes got things started for the Grizzlie's with a goal in the 7th minute while Sagi Hirsch chipped in another in the 20th minute to give GGC a 2-1 lead.

Another goal by GGC defender Andrew White would increase the Grizzly lead to two at the 3-1 mark before Alex Meany would close the gap to one with a goal of his own in the 29th minute.

However, despite another impressive outing by the Lions, Georgia Gwinnett would hold their lead to pick up the 3-2 victory.

With the loss, the Lions end their season with a record of 4-11. Georgia Gwinnett improves to 10-3-3 with the victory.
