Lady Lions fall to Missouri Baptist in AMC Quarterfinal

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion volleyball team ended their season Tuesday night in the AMC Quarterfinal round, as Missouri Baptist University combined for 37 kills on their way to a straight-sets victory over the Lady Lions.

Freshman Ashton Webb led the Lady Lions on the attack for a second straight match, as she pounded out eight kills in the match. Lindsey Gordon followed close behind, as she chipped in five kills of her own while dishing out 15 assists in the loss.

Mallory Dillon led the the Spartans on the attack with 11 kills while Caterina Cigarini followed close behind with eight kills. Megan Huffman dished out 32 assists for Missouri Baptist while Natalie Gremaud countered FHU's attack well with 13 digs.

Missouri Baptist (28-7) out-hit FHU (11-15) 37-24 in the match while hitting a .289 percent clip.

With the loss, the Lady Lions end their season with a record of 11-15. The Spartans advance to the AMC Semifinal round, where they will face the winner of Columbia College and Williams Baptist College.
