Lady Lions Volleyball adds Emma Self to 2017 recruiting class

HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Lady Lion volleyball team added another player to its 2017 recruiting class with the recent signing of Emma Self of Murfreesboro, Tenn.

Self, an Outside Hitter, prepped at Middle Tennessee Christian School, where she was a four-year starter and team captain her junior and senior seasons.

During her final two seasons with the Cougars, she accumulated 542 kills and 408 digs while setting a career record in blocks with 89. Throughout her time at Middle Tennessee Christian, Self was an All-District and All-Region performer while receiving the MTCS Most Valuable Player Award her senior season.

Self also demonstrated her ability to distribute the ball throughout her time at MTCS, as she dished out an impressive 684 assists throughout her junior and senior seasons to lead the Cougars. She also performed well at the service line, as she combined for 144 service aces in her final two seasons.

"Emma will add depth to the front row," said Todd Humphry, head coach for the Lady Lion volleyball program. "We have enjoyed getting to know her at our summer camps and look forward to working with her over the next four years."

Self is the fourth player signed to the Lady Lion volleyball team for the 2017 season. She joins Rachel Hudgins (Hickman County High School/Centerville, Tenn.), Reilly Fulton (Centennial High School/Franklin, Tenn.) and Claire Walker (Hazel Green High School / Hazel Green, ala.) in the 2017 recruiting class for the Lady Lion volleyball program.
