HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion softball team got an early start to their 2017-2018 recruiting class with the recent signing of Brittan Jarrell of Nashville, Tenn.

Jarrell, an infielder, prepped at Nashville Christian School, where she was an Academic All-District performer her freshman and junior seasons with the Eagles.

Throughout her time at Nashville Christian, Jarrell received the Iron Man Award all four seasons while serving as the lead off hitter throughout her high school career. In addition to her ability on the field, Jarrell has also excelled in the classroom, as she was a Scholar Athlete all four years at NCS while being a member of the National Honor Society.

Jarrell has also found success in the independent circuit, as she has played for the Tennessee Ballhawks '99 team, where she appeared in 35 games and hit .276 with an on-base percentage of .315.

"Brittan will help fill the void in the middle of the infield with the graduation of Jenna Graham," said Todd Humphry, head coach for the Lady Lion softball team. "She is a hard worker and is solid at the plate. She will fit right in with our team."

Brittan is the daughter of Tim and Kim Jarrell of Nashville, Tenn. She is the first player signed to the Lady Lion softball roster for the 2018 season.
