HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion basketball team made it look easy Thursday, as they notched their 15th straight win with a 67-44 victory over No. 12 Columbia College in the American Midwest Conference Game of the Week.

Taleeah Cross paced the Lady Lion attack, as she put up 21 points and dished out six assists. Carrie Hatchel followed close behind with 17 points, including five three-point field goals down the stretch. Kim Mallory continued her strong play with nine points and six rebounds in the win.

The Lady Lions (15-0, 9-0 AMC) shot 36 percent in the game compared to Columbia (12-3, 6-3 AMC), who shot just 28 percent from the field after going 6-for-30 in the first half and 9-for-22 in the second half.

Ashlee Marlatt led the Cougars on the attack with 12 points while Grey Hayes and Raegan Wieser followed close behind, each with eight points. Morgan Brandt led Columbia College on the glass, as she pulled down eight rebounds in the loss.

Despite starting the game slow, the Lady Lions found their rhythm near the end of the first quarter, as they pulled away at the 16-6 mark before Grey Hayes connected on a three-point field goal to make the margin seven points at the 16-9 mark entering the second stanza.

The Lady Lions kept pace in the second quarter, as they out-shot the Cougars 11-10 and extended their lead to as many as 11 points at the 22-11 mark before Columbia closed the gap to eight points entering the half with FHU up 27-19.

The Lady Lions continued to extend their lead in the second half, as they reached their largest lead of the game at the 67-42 mark with 31 seconds remaining, which would be all they needed to secure the 67-44 victory.

With the win, the Lady Lions improve to 15-0 on the season and 9-0 in conference play. The Cougars fall to 12-3 on the season and 6-3 in AMC play with the loss.

UP NEXT: Freed-Hardeman concludes their three game home-stand Saturday, January 7th, as they play host to William Woods University. The Lady Lions kick things off first at 1:00 PM followed by the men's game at 3:00 PM at the Brewer Sports Center.
