Lions dominate on the road; down Pharmacy 98-51

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Freed-Hardeman Lion basketball team picked up their eleventh win of the season Thursday night as they cruised to a convincing 98-51 victory over St. Louis College of Pharmacy in St. Louis, Mo.

Nearly every player on the Lion roster put points on the board in the match-up, led by Trevor Randolph who put up 17 points, including a 5-for-8 shooting performance from behind the arc. Three other Lion players reached double digits in the match-up including Marcus Baldwin, who fired in 13 points while Austin Dempsey and Ben Brown chipped in 10 each.

FHU (11-6, 7-3 AMC) shot nearly 50 percent from the field in the game compared to St. Louis College of Pharmacy (0-11, 0-8 AMC) who shot just 24 percent from the field and 30 percent from behind the arc. FHU made things difficult on the Eutectics throughout the game as they forced 12 turnovers and snagged eight steals. 

Colton Frazer led St. Louis College of Pharmacy on the offensive end with 25 points. John Meinhardt also reached double digits in the match-up for the Eutectics, as he chipped in 11 points in the loss.

The Lions dominated the offensive possession from the opening tip as they out-shot St. Louis College of Pharmacy 51-16 in the first half, which included limiting the Eutectics to just 4-for-27 shooting from the field and 1-for-10 shooting from behind the arc.

FHU would continue to pile it on in the second half as they received contribution from nearly every player on the roster. The bench combined for 59 of FHU's 98 points in the contest. The Lions would lead by as many as 52 in the game at the 85-33 mark in the second half on their way to a 98-51 victory on the road.

With the win, the Lions improve to 11-6 on the season and 7-3 in conference play. The Eutectics fall to 0-11 on the season and 0-8 in AMC play with the loss.

UP NEXT: The Lions match-up against Missouri Baptist University, originally scheduled for Saturday January 14th, has been postponed due to weather concerns in the St. Louis area. Details regarding a future make-up date will be provided as it becomes available.

The Lions are back in action at home Thursday, January 19, as they host Harris Stowe State University. The Lady Lions kick things off first at 5:30 PM followed by the men's game at 7:30 PM at the Brewer Sports Center.
