HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman University Lion baseball team continues to expand its incoming class with the signing of Storm Bates of Nettleton, Miss.
Bates, a utility player, prepped at Nettleton High School under Coach Matthew Addison. As a senior, he hit .464 with two homeruns and was a two-time first team all-division selection. He also received the coaches' award in 2008 and the team's best offense award in 2009.
"Storm came to FHU early in the spring and had an impressive workout for the coaching staff. He has a great bat and the ability to play multiple positions," said FHU assistant coach J.D. Flowers. "We are looking forward to seeing what he can achieve at the college level."
Storm is the son of Chris and Sonya Bates.
