HENDERSON, Tenn - The Freed-Hardeman Lion baseball team got back on track Friday, as they picked up a 9-4 victory over Central Methodist University for their fourth win of the season.

Brandon Guske (3-0) picked up the win after working his second complete game of the season and striking out six while allowing nine hits. Darcy Moore led the Lions at the plate in the game, as he went 3-for-4 on the night, including two homeruns and three RBI. Chase Young also found success for the Lions, as he went 2-for-4 with a homerun and one RBI.

The Lions (4-4) would get things started in the bottom of the second inning, as Darcy Moore began a 2-out rally with a double to center field. Parks Flowers and Joseph Leatherwood would follow with two straight walks issued by Joe Lewis to load the bases. Lewis would continue to struggle in the inning, as he issued a walk to Bryce Lester and Griffin Siebert to score Moore and Flowers and put the Lions up 2-0.

The Lions would strike again in the third inning, as Aden Campbell reached on a walk followed by a base hit by Houston Looser. Larkey Dotson would pinch run for Campbell and would score later in the inning, along with Looser following a rip by Collin McPherson down the third base line to put the Lions up 4-0.

Central Methodist (3-2) would get one run back in the top of the fourth inning, as Dustyn Macaluso would cross the plate after reaching on a single to shallow left field and scoring on a sacrifice fly by Zach Beckner to close the gap to three at the 4-1 mark.

The Eagles would push another run across in the top part of the fifth inning, as Jared Johnson crossed the plate after being hit by a pitch and scoring off a blooper over third base by Brandon Alcala to pull Central Methodist within two runs at the 4-2 mark.

The Lions would fight back in the bottom part of the fifth inning, as Darcy Moore would connect on a fastball and take it over the left field fence to score himself and Looser to put the Lions back up 6-2 mid-way through the game. Chase Young would get in on the yard work in the bottom of the sixth inning and take one over the right field fence to score himself and Bryce Lester to put the Lions up 8-2.

The Eagles would get one run back in the top part of the sixth inning, as Dustyn Macaluso singled to right field to score Brandon Alcala to make it 8-3 in favor of the Lions. However, Moore would strike again with his second home-run of the game in the bottom half of the inning, to give the Lions another insurance run and a 9-3 lead.

Central Methodist would pull within five again in the top part of the eighth inning, as DeAndre Smith connected on a solo homerun over the right field fence, but it would not be enough as the Lions shut down the Eagles in the ninth inning to pick up the 9-4 victory.

With the win, the Lions even up their season record at 4-4. Central Methodist falls to 3-2 on the season with the loss.
