Lady Lions move to 29-0; down Pharmacy 96-33

HENDERSON, Tenn. - With two games to go in the regular season, the Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion basketball team kept their foot on the gas pedal Thursday, as they picked up a convincing 96-33 victory over St. Louis College of Pharmacy at the Brewer Sports Center.

Carrie Hatchel led the Lady Lions on the offensive end with 16 points, as she went 4-for-8 from behind the arc. Tiffany Pate followed close behind with a double-double, as she put up 14 points and pulled down 15 rebounds in the victory.

Three other players reached double digits for the Lady Lions, as Sandrea Sylman and Haylee Croom ended the night with 12 points while Reagen Floyd chipped in 11.

FHU (29-0, 23-0 AMC) shot 39 percent from the field in the game compared to St. Louis College of Pharmacy (3-23, 1-21 AMC) who shot just 30 percent from the field and 11 percent from behind the arc. The Lady Lions did not make things easy on the Eutectics as they forced an impressive 25 turnovers while FHU turned the ball over just four times in the contest.

Morgan Rose led St. Louis College of Pharmacy on the offensive end, as she finished the night with 11 points and was the only Eutectic player to reach double digits in the match-up. Lauren Roethemeyer led the Eutectics on the glass, as she pulled down 13 rebounds in the loss.

The Lady Lions dominated the offensive possession from the opening tip as they out-shot St. Louis College of Pharmacy 49-17 in the first half, which included limiting the Eutectics to just six points in the first quarter to take a commanding lead into the half.

FHU would keep things rolling in the second half as they extended their lead to as many as 65 at the end of regulation on their way to a 96-33 victory.

With the win, the Lady Lions move to 29-0 on the season and 23-0 in conference play. The Eutectics fall to 3-23 on the season and 1-21 in AMC play with the loss.
