PARKVILLE, Mo. - The Freed-Hardeman Lion baseball team dropped a pair of games Friday afternoon in Parkville, Mo., as Park University handed the Lions a 10-6 loss in the opening game followed by a 2-0 loss in the nightcap.

Despite the loss in the opening game, the Lions (13-9, 4-4 AMC) received solid contribution from Griffin Siebert, who went 2-for-3 on the day and added two RBI. Chase Young also had a solid day at the plate, as he went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

The Lions scattered six hits in the game and held their own, despite falling behind 6-2 after the second inning. The Lions; however, would regroup in the top of the fourth and push four runs across to even things up at six apiece.

However, the Pirates (12-6, 5-0 AMC) would take over from there, as they added four unanswered runs to end the game with one run in the bottom of the fourth and three more in the bottom of the fifth to take a 10-6 lead, which would be all they needed to secure the victory.

Riley Echols (2-2) suffered the loss in the opening game after working 4 2/3 innings and striking out three while allowing nine hits and four earned runs.

The struggles continued for the Lions in the nightcap, as Park would need just one run in the third inning and another in the fifth inning to complete a shutout of the Lions in the 2-0 victory. Despite the loss, Chase Young continued his strong play, as he went 2-for-4 on the day and contributed two of FHU's four hits in the game.

Brandon Guske (4-2) suffered the loss in the nightcap, as he worked eight complete innings and struck out eight while allowing 10 hits and one earned run.

With the losses, the Lions fall to 13-9 on the season and 4-4 in conference play. The Pirates improve to 12-6 on the season and 4-2 in AMC play with the win.
