FHU Golf battles weather in opening round of Redhawk Classic

LEWISBURG, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman golf teams had more than opposing teams to battle Monday in the Redhawk Spring Classic, as rainy and wet conditions dominated opening round action.

The Lions team score of 307 finds them in sixth place, 14 shots off of tournament host Martin Methodist, who currently sits on top of the leaderboard.

Sophomore Hudson Huber led the Lions in Day 1, firing a 72. Huber's even-par score puts him tied for fifth place individually. Easton Lavelle's 76, Ben Burnette's 78, and Lance Moore's 81 rounded out the team scoring for the Lions.

The Lady Lions currently sit in second place after shooting a team score 318. Kayland Boling led the Lady Lions with a 74. Her two-over par round finds her in second place individually. Chloe Kraus' 78 puts her in fourth place. Alex Hodgkinson's 82 and Kirsten Parker's 84 rounded out the team scoring.  
 
Final round action begins today, with men's tee times beginning at 9:20 AM with the women's to follow at 10:10 AM.
