FHU Golf conclude final round play in Redhawk Classic

LEWISBURG, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman golf teams concluded final round play at the Redhawk Spring Classic in Lewisburg, Tenn. Tuesday and with it came a second place team finish for the Lady Lions and a sixth place team finish for the Lions.  

The Lady Lions made up seven strokes on the team leaderboard, but fell two strokes short of first place finisher Faulkner University. Sophomore's Emily Whitnell and Chloe Kraus led the way, each shooting a pair of 77's. 

Kirsten Parker's 80 and Kayland Boling's 81 rounded out the team scoring.  Kraus (78-77-155) and Boling (74-81-155) finished tied for third place individually. Whitnell (86-77-163) and Alex Hodgkinson (82-81-163) finished tied for tenth place.

The Lions struggled to make up any ground on the field in the final round, posting a team score of 308 to remain in sixth place. Sophomore Hudson Huber continued his solid play, posting a one-under 71, to lead the Lions.

Huber's two day total of 72-71-143 put him in fourth place individually for the Classic. Easton Lavelle's 77, Ben Burnette's 80, and Trey Lashlee's 80 rounded out the team scoring.

UP NEXT: The FHU golf teams conclude the regular season April 17-18 in Heber Springs, Ark., playing in the Natural State Classic, hosted by Harding University.
