Lions Golf takes third in AMC Conference Tournament

CAMDENTON, Mo. - The American Midwest Conference golf tournament wrapped up Tuesday with the Lions taking a third place finish out of eight participating teams. Their 54-hole total of 927 (308-304-315) found them eight shots off second place finisher Missouri Baptist University.

Pacing the Lions were juniors Easton Lavelle (77-79-76-232) and Lance Moore (76-77-79-232), each tying for thirteenth place. Ben Burnette (79-73-83-235) and Trey Lashlee (83-82-77-242) rounded out the final round scoring.

Following Tuesday's competition, the AMC revealed its All-Conference teams for the 2017 men's golf season and among those selected from FHU were Easton Lavelle and Hudson Huber. Lavelle was named a First-Team All Conference recipient while Huber was named an Honorable-Mention selection.

 Lavelle, a junior from Munford, Tenn., led the Lions a majority of the season, as he finished ahead of the pack in two of the four competitions played in the Spring, highlighted by a 3-over 75 at the Faulkner Spring Invite, where he earned All-Tournament accolades.

Huber, a junior from Newnan, Ga. was named an Honorable Mention selection after a solid Spring season that was highlighted by a fourth place finish at the Martin Methodist Spring Invite, where he posted rounds of 72-71-143.
