HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion basketball team added another player to its 2017-18 recruiting class with the recent signing of Jordan Mays of Marmaduke, Ark.

Mays, a 5-4 guard, prepped at Marmaduke High School, where she averaged 12 points, four assists and four steals per contest while compiling a remarkable 4-1 assist to turnover ratio.

Throughout her time at Marmaduke High School, Mays led her team to its first ever State Championship while compiling 102 wins in three years of Senior High Competition.

Mays received numerous honors throughout her time with the Greyhounds, including being named to the All-Tournament in KellClassic-Northeast Arkansas Invitational-and WBC Invitational. She was also named to the All District and All-State team in the state of Arkansas and was the Player of the Year, as named by the Paragould Daily Press.

"Jordan has a great love and deep understanding of the game and is a fierce competitor," said Dale Neal, head coach for the Lady Lion basketball program. "When she first attended our Lady Lion Camp, it was immediately obvious how well she fit in with our players and that she would be a great asset to program. She has great character and we love her approach to the game. She is an outstanding softball player as well and had scholarship opportunities to continue playing softball at the next level but opted out for college basketball and we are thrilled that she made that choice and is going to become a Lady Lion"

May is the second player to sign with the Lady Lion basketball program for the upcoming season. She joins Alyssa Lemay (Mt. Pleasant High School/ Mt. Pleasant, Tenn.) in the 2017-18 recruiting class for the Lady Lions.
