HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion volleyball team needed a win Saturday to get back on track in conference play and a win is what they got as they defeated Stephens College 3-1 to even up their AMC record at 1-1.

Despite a slow start by the Lady Lions (2-7, 1-1 AMC), which saw Stephens College (0-8, 0-2 AMC) come away with a 25-18 first set win, FHU would rebound and take the next three sets to secure the win. (18-25, 25-13, 25-15, 25-14)

Freshman Claire Walker paced the attack for the Lady Lions, as she ended the night with 10 kills. Alex Britt followed close behind with nine kills of her own while Bojana Antunovic compiled eight kills in the win.

Lindsey Gordon distributed the ball well in the match, as she ended the night with 27 assists while Reilly Fulton countered the Stars attack well and ended the day with 29 defensive digs. Britt continued her strong play on the front line, as she compiled three blocks in the win.

With the win, the Lady Lions move to 2-7 on the season and 1-1 in conference play. The Stars fall to 0-8 on the season and 0-2 in AMC play with the loss.

UP NEXT: The Lady Lions are back in action on the road Friday, September 22nd, as they make the trip to No. 11 Missouri Baptist University. Match time is slated for 7:00 PM in St. Louis, Mo.
