HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion volleyball team continued their solid play Tuesday night, as they picked up a straight-sets victory over NCAA Lane College at the Brewer Sports Center. (25-17, 27-25, 25-13)

"It was another great win for us tonight against a very athletic Lane team," said Todd Humphry, head coach for the Lady Lion volleyball team. "Being able to win in straight sets was very nice and was reflective of our solid leadership."

The Lady Lions (4-8) compiled 49 kills in the match and hit .364 compared to Lane College (3-9) who compiled 27 kills and hit .200 in the match. The Lady Lions had plenty of offense to go around, as three players reached double digits on the attack.

Claire WalkerShea Dean and Katie Collier paced the Lady Lion attack, as each compiled 10 kills in the match to account for a majority of the offense for the Lady Lions. Lindsey Gordon distributed the ball well in the match, as she contributed 36 assists while Reilly Fulton countered the Dragon attack well and ended the night with eight defensive digs.

Humphry said the addition of some younger players this season to complement the returning players has made a big difference during the 2017 season.

"I feel our freshmen players are getting better and better each match," Humphry said. "With the solid play of our new players lately along with Sophomore Katie Collier, we are beginning to find our stride."

With the win, the Lady Lions move to 4-8 on the season. Lane College falls to 3-9 on the season with the loss.

UP NEXT: The Lady Lions are back in action Friday, September 29th, as they host conference foe William Woods University. Match time is slated for 6:00 PM at the Brewer Sports Center.
