HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion volleyball team fought hard Saturday against No. 4 Park University, but in the end the Pirates were too much, as they defeated the Lady Lions with a final score of 3-0 (15-25, 16-25, 18-25).

With the loss the Lady Lions fall to 4-10 on the season and 2-4 in conference play. Park University improves to 16-2 on the season and remains undefeated in conference play at 5-0.

"I thought despite the score we played one of our best matches of the season against a top 10 team," said Todd Humphry, head coach for the Lady Lion volleyball team. "These type of matches will help us continue to improve as the season progresses."

Despite the loss, the Lady Lions held their own in each of the three sets against a nationally ranked Park team. Several players contributed solid minutes for FHU including Senior Alex Britt, who once again led FHU on the attack with eight kills while also compiling 10 defensive digs.

Bojana Antunovic followed close behind and ended the day with six kills while Lindsey Gordon dished out 24 assists in the loss. Reilly Fulton countered the Pirate attack well and ended the day with 15 defensive digs.

Nada Meawad led the Pirates on the attack with 12 kills while Danna Gomes dished out 31 of Park's 40 assists in the win. Despite  FHU's solid attack, the Pirates countered with solid defense, led by Celina Monteiro, who defended FHU's attack well with 19 digs. The Pirates accumulated 49 kills and hit .283 in the match compared to the Lady Lions who hit just .063 in the match with 29 kills.
