HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lion soccer team suffered their seventh loss of the season Thursday at the hands of Williams Baptist College, as one goal would be just enough for the Eagles to complete a 1-0 shutout of the Lions.

The match-up was fairly even on the offensive end, as FHU (1-7, 0-4 AMC) attempted 16 shots and seven shots on goal compared to Williams Baptist (4-7-1, 2-4 AMC) who attempted 17 shots and six shots on goal in the match.

Despite the loss, the Lions played solid on the defensive end, as Jeremiah Bailey saved five of the six shots he faced and gave up just one goal in the loss. Juan Colmenares and George Achard led the Lions on the offensive end, as each attempted four shots and two shots on goal in the match.

Rafael Faria led the Eagles on the offensive end and contributed the lone goal in the match in the 73rd minute off an assist by Fernando Moreto. Danilo Cruz followed close behind for the Eagles, as he fired in four shots and two shots on goal in the win.

With the loss, the Lions fall to 1-7 on the season and 0-4 in conference play. The Eagles improve to 4-7-1 on the season and 2-4 in AMC play with the win.

UP NEXT: The Lions are back in action Saturday, October 7th, as they make the trip to Hannibal-LaGrange University. The Lady Lions kick things off first at 1:30 PM followed by the men's match at 3:30 PM in Hannibal, Mo.
