HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion soccer team picked up their sixth straight win of the season Tuesday, as they fired in nine goals to issue a shutout to St. Louis College of Pharmacy at the Josh Riley Soccer Complex.

Samantha Clymer led the Lady Lions on the attack and fired in four of FHU's nine goals to bring her goal total to 16 on the season, which puts her at No. 1 all time in the Lady Lions record books for goals in a season. The previous record of 15 goals in a season was set by Leslie Tiensvold, who played for the Lady Lions from 2002-2006.

Taylor Woods followed close behind with two goals of her own while Kayla Boutwell, Nina Carolissen and Lauren Rogers chipped in one goal apiece in the win.

The Lady Lions (8-4, 6-1 AMC) scored early and often, as they found the back of the net five times in the first half, courtesy of two goals apiece by Clymer and Woods to put FHU up 4-0. A goal by Carolissen in the 35th minute gave the Lions a 5-0 edge entering the half, which would make a comeback unlikely for the Eutectics (3-8, 0-7 AMC).

Clymer; however, would not be satisfied with just two goals, as she fired in two more goals in the 49th and 60th minutes to put the Lady Lions up 7-0. Rogers and Boutwell rounded out the scoring drive near the end of regulation with goals in the 75th and 76th minutes to give FHU the 9-0 lead, which would be all they needed to complete the shutout.

With the win, the Lady Lions improve to 8-4 on the season and 6-1 in conference play. St. Louis College of Pharmacy falls to 3-8 on the season and 0-7 in AMC play with the loss.

UP NEXT: The FHU Soccer teams are back in action Saturday, October 14th, as they host conference foe Harris Stowe State University. The Lady Lions kick things off first at 2:00 PM followed by the men's match at 4:00 PM at the Josh Riley Soccer Complex.
