2009 Volleyball

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion volleyball team broke into the win column with a 3-1 victory over Millsaps (Miss.) College on Friday night in the Rhodes College Invitational.

Millsaps edged FHU in the first game, 25-23, but the Lady Lions took control from that point forward taking the remaining games 25-16, 25-18, and 25-13.

Diana Silva led the attack with 13 kills while Sydney Rice added 12.  Amber Turner also posted a career-high 37 assists.

FHU (1-3) plays two matches tomorrow, one against Loyola (La.) University and one against Birmingham Southern College.
