LEBANON, Tenn. - Cumberland (Tenn.) University used a pair of early goals and a pair of penalty kicks to defeat Freed-Hardeman, 4-0, on Thursday afternoon.
J.J. Henderson and Robert Als scored goals in the 12th and 20th minutes to put Cumberland up, 2-0, and the Bulldogs added to their lead with penalty kicks by Nguyen Nguyen in the 24th minute and Adam Owczarzak in the 68th minute.
Freed-Hardeman got six shots on goal, but all were stopped by CU keeper Michael Michailidis.
The Lions return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 3, at Lyon (Ark.) College at 2:00 PM.
