JACKSON, Tenn. - Freshman Sloan Scott had her best finish to date, placing fourth in the Union University Invitational on Saturday in Jackson, Tenn.
Scott crossed the finish line with a time of 20:17, just shy of her personal best of 19:56 set in FHU's previous meet in Little Rock, Ark. The field included 33 runners, all from TranSouth Conference teams. Host school Union took the top three spots ahead of Sloan.
Three other Lady Lions set new personal bests as well - Mary Faust (22:19), Hannah Leach (22:34) and Brianna Steffy (22:39). Faust placed 17th while Leach was 20th and Steffy came in 21st.
Elise Beisel (24:27), Bethany Iversen (25:33), Mert Shepard (25:34) and Jordan Saliba (28:22) also competed for the Lady Lions, who placed third as a team,
The Lions were unable to post a team score due to injuries. Freshman Christean Covington finished 15th with a time of 29:14 and Luke Searcy was 16th with a tie of 29:19 in the field of 30 runners.
Jason King (31:18) and Trent Adams (34:42) also placed for the Lions.
