Leigh Leonard
Leigh Leonard - Grad Assistant - 1st Season
Leigh Leonard is in her first year as the graduate assistant for the Freed-Hardeman softball program. She works with the pitchers and coaches first base.
Leonard spent one year at NCAA Division I Southeast Missouri State before transferring to Oklahoma Christian University for her final three years. In 2009, her first year at OC, she was named the Sooner Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year. In 2011, she went 17-4 in the circle with 2.18 ERA while playing in one of the strongest softball conferences in the NAIA. She also struck out 127 batters in 128 innings and hit .291 with 19 RBI while leading Oklahoma Christian to its first 40-win season.
She finished her collegiate career with 44 wins and 339 strikeouts.
Leonard prepped at Marshall Co. (Ky.) HS where she was an all-region selection and a participant in the East/West Kentucky All-Star Game and the Kentucky/Tennessee All-Star Game.
